FLUKE-SCAN 10%
Composition
Each 100 ml contains:
Triclabendazole 10 gm
Properties
Triclabendazole is a member of the Benzimidazoles family of Anthelmintics.
The mode of action of Triclabendazole is not known but is probably different from that of other benzimidazoles as it does not exert its activity by association with tubulin. Triclabendazole and its sulfoxide metabolite are anthelmintically active
Triclabendazole holds an excellent efficacy against adult and immature stages of Fasciola hepatica (down to 1-week old flukes). The high activity of Triclabendazole against immature flukes is significant because they represent the migratory stage of the parasite, which may produce serious tissue damage in the host. Triclabendazole activity appears to be restricted to Fasciola hepatica , Fasciola gigantica , Fascioloides magna and the lung fluke .
Triclabendazole activity appears to be restricted to Fasciola hepatica, Fasciola gigantica, Fascioloides magna and the lung fluke.
